The Story Behind Seahorse Ranch

I first heard of Sanibel Island when my stepfather took my mother on a trip there. She always raved about how beautiful the island was every day. I knew my mom would think the perfect thing to do after closing her estate would be to treat myself to a vacation…I decided what better place than Sanibel? I first visited the island in August 2014 and again in July 2017. It was while taking this picture of the sunset (my favorite time of day) that I decided this is where I’d like to live once I retire. I was blessed to purchase my piece of paradise in January 2022.

Hurricane Ian (September 28, 2022) has put an indefinite delay in my plans but has provided me the opportunity to share my condo with guests as a rental unit. Of course, I still enjoy it myself every chance I get!

I was born out West and my father was a cowboy. I loved riding horses while growing up. My grandparents on both sides shared a fondness for a dude ranch in Arizona.
I have long been fascinated with the seahorse. I found it ironic when I first learned it was the male seahorse that delivered the babies, and I was in awe. Hence, because of this background, I named my condo Seahorse Ranch.

I have enjoyed this magnificent island, collecting seashells and watching stunning sunsets each time I’ve visited. (I’m told the sunrises are fantastic too!) My wish is for you to enjoy your stay, feel comfortable and blissful and most of all, have fun!
